Abstract: As robots are transitioning from isolated working sites to human-present environments, more research efforts are needed to developing intelligent robotic and mechatronics systems with various degrees of autonomy. This research seminar will present an overview of research activities in robotics and mechatronics of Dr. Almas Shintemirov, recently joined the Intelligent Robotics group at Aalto as a Research Fellow, conducted previously at Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan. The seminar with focus on applications of model predictive control for motion planning of robot-manipulators and mobile robots, and presentation of other mechatronic system developments.
